For the past decade, Tampere has been Finland's most attractive city, drawing people to study, work, and spend their retirement days.

Tampere's vitality is perfectly reflected in its large global companies, agile subcontractors, and the most active start-up community in Finland, which has transformed many small businesses into successful growth companies. Tampere is particularly attractive to students; with the largest age group being 20-29 year olds, it boasts a large pool of new professionals. The city recognized long ago that fostering close collaboration among companies of all sizes, top-tier educational institutions, as well as research and development organizations is instrumental in its vitality and growth.
